Navigating Retail: The Force of Habits (June 23, 2016 - 12:00)
Customers perceive a store based on how familiar they are with it and their current trip mission. More than half of shops result in 5 or fewer items being purchased. These fill and quick trips are processed completely differently than stock up trips, involving heightened conscious processing and exposure to stimuli typically ignored. But few stores understand how to leverage these trips to change long-term shopper behavior.

Attendees will learn how to ‘see’ their store through the eyes of customers as they go from novice to expert. They will also understand how to leverage quick and fill in trips to disrupt customers habitual shopping behavior.
